The economic impact of lake eutrophication
Reservoir was built in 1972 with an expected life of 350 years and a budget of $325M; after less than 15 years the water showed the first serious symptoms of eutrophication, in less than 40 years operators are able to use water from gate no 5 only, second from top to bottom, since the quality of the water below is untreatable.
 The options are
1. To invest in the plants connected to the lake
2. Improve the quality of the water in the lake by using laminar flow
inversion; being this second option the most cost effective
